We are thrilled that the Bybee Lakes Hope Center Victory Garden (BLHCVG) was the recent beneficiary of a collaborative effort among Friends of Trees, Portland Timbers, and the VetREST-created BLHCVG for Stand Together Week.
Stand Together Week is the Portland Timbers citywide volunteer initiative that brings the community together to support local nonprofit organizations. The week engages hundreds of supporters, athletes, coaches, ambassadors, and front office staff who work with various nonprofits in the community. Since 2012, Stand Together Week participants have given more than 22,000 hours of service with 250 nonprofit and community organizations in our region.
On July 7th, a wonderful crowd of Stand Together Week volunteers made their way to the Bybee Lakes Victory Garden for a stellar work party! Volunteers engaged in a mix of mulching, watering, weeding, and transporting soil/compost to prep the fall planting area in the native meadow, as well as weeding and other maintenance activities in the vegetable garden.
We were thrilled to be a part of this great event that gives so much to the community!
Thank you for Helping Us In the Garden!
