Bybee Lakes Hope Center is a transitional housing facility in North Portland supporting people experiencing homelessness. Our five-acre Victory Garden, run by VETRest has a young fruit orchard, a thriving vegetable garden, and a walking path with a variety of large stock trees planted by Friends of Trees in 2021.
For this event we are partnering with Friends of Trees to plant hundreds of native shrubs and replant our native wildflower meadow for residents to enjoy! Please arrive by 9:45am to sign-in and be assigned a planting crew. The planting starts at 10:00am.
We provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate -- all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun!
Be a part of this great work and the growth and future of this amazing garden that brings refuge, nourishment, and purpose to many!
