Thank You for Helping us Plant and Mulch in the Rain!

Bybee Lakes Hope Center is a transitional housing facility in North Portland supporting people experiencing homelessness. Our five-acre Victory Garden, run by VetREST has a young fruit orchard, a thriving vegetable garden, and a walking path with a variety of large stock trees planted by Friends of Trees in 2021.
In February, 2025, amid the snow, we partnered with Friends of Trees to plant hundreds of native shrubs and replant our native wildflower meadow for residents to enjoy.
Now we need to do some maintenance.
Friends of Trees will provide gloves, tools, and task guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate — all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun!
Thank you for being a part of this great work, and the growth and future of this amazing garden that brings refuge, nourishment, and purpose to many!
