St Johns Bridge with Cathedral park underneath Looking west

Cathedral Park Planting with Portland Parks & Rec

Thank You!

For joining us in April to spruce up the Cathedral Park Nature Patch, under the majestic St. Johns bridge in N Portland.  While the coast redwoods were replaced with weeping Alaska cedar (availability issue), the rest of the planting went as planned.

One part of the plan was to remove the stepping stone pathway going down the upper slope. The lower stones were a slipping hazard on wet days. They were relocated along the flat

We partnered with Portland Parks & Recreation, Metro, Team Rubicon and local volunteers to replant the Nature Patch.

While we got the south slope planted, there is more work to do. Check this space for a second planting day to take care of beds north of the bridgeway.

  • 100 - Symphiocarpos alba (common snowberry)
  • 100 - Anthirium felix-femenia (lady fern)
